Dresdner Apparatebau Snare Drums

 

In the Royal Concertgebouw we play on many beautiful old instruments. Our vintage snare drum collection is one of the treasures we are very proud of. The most important drums that give our orchestra that personal sound, are the Dresdners.

NOW......

At the moment I have 2 Dresdners in my collection. These instruments are of outstanding quality and has the awsome powerful and deep sound that gives it its famous reputation in the orchestral world.

All drums are made with a seamless brass kettle and string snares.

* 1 : a 14,5 x 5 , a very rare size for a Dresdner. It will be sold with a calfhead. It was manufactured around 1938. In the range of vintage orchestral drums this one is rated in the Stradivarius league.

*2. a 14.5 x 6 Dresdner 1960's, with calfhead. A very powerful but still sensitive instrument in excellent condition.

Baroque Timpani for sale
